The organic waste from our hotels is utilized as raw material for bio-energy plants. Through an innovative processing method, the waste is converted into green energy and supplied back to our hotels.
So, it's not discarded, but always smartly reused! For instance, many products are cooled in a hotel. All this extracted energy is reused within the hotel. For example, cooling beer helps in heating water in the room.
Sustainability is considered not only in operations but also during construction. Several hotels already possess the BREEAM-NL In-Use sustainability certificate. This certificate is widely accepted in the Netherlands for evaluating sustainability aspects of the building. Valk Exclusief continues to build for the future. Currently, Hotel Woerden is under construction.
We make every effort to use and generate our energy with the highest possible efficiency. For example, we reuse the heat generated during the production of our electricity. Heat from the engine and exhaust gas cooling is utilized for your hot shower.
Not only heat is reused, but also many used products. For instance, all remnants of old candles from the restaurants are collected, melted down, and processed into new candles.
We cannot avoid using paper, so we have searched for a responsible way to do so. Therefore, all our documents, brochures, and magazines are made from FSC certified paper. The FSC system ensures that the forests on our planet can be preserved through responsible forest management.
By using FSC, we directly contribute to the protection of our global forests and to a healthy living environment for humans and animals worldwide.
