At the heart of this 'passing on' lies the Trees4next initiative: our own tree-planting project, through which we create a new forest to compensate for your and our CO₂ emissions. Not a forest in an exotic location, but nearby in the hills of Scotland.

„Hands-on“- mentality
We extend our „Hands-on“- mentality to the hills of Greenhope Woodlands in Ellemford. Close by, in the most deforested country in Europe: Scotland. Why there? Because doing things ourselves and thus maintaining control is in our family DNA. And that is only possible when you are at a short distance. That's why we chose to look closer to home rather than a rainforest in Borneo or the Amazon.
We do much more than planting trees
Every choice makes a difference
Together with you, we can compensate for every overnight stay, meal, meeting, or transport. For every Green or OrangeChoice stay, we plant a tree: 1 tree for every 2 OrangeChoices and another for every GreenChoice. With the OrangeChoice you do not require new towels, while with the GreenChoice you waive the complete cleaning service for stays of at least two nights. It is just one of our sustainability initiatives, but a very important and tangible one.
